Anyway, they still managed to get in a good discussion of the Bucks playing defense, Brandon Jennings playing point guard, the Thunder playing defense, the Knicks playing decently, Nate Robinson playing, John Wall playing incredibly, the poor play in the Kentucky-Louisville game, and Gilbert playing with guns.
No playing!

FYI, i didn’t want it to sound in the episode like i was talking tough about somebody flashing me a gun and then beating them up or shooting back at them. I was going to get to a point, but decided as my mouth was opening that it was not worth making because it had too many moving parts.
In essence, I remember thinking about the people that showed up with guns to political town hall meetings this summer. It disturbed me because the only reason to bring a gun to a place like that is for the purpose of some sort of intimidation. I recall specifically deciding that if I was ever with my wife and child and somebody (likely a crazy person) flashed a gun beneath their coat or hinted that they might use it, then I just might be forced to make a split-second decision about whether i was actually being threatened with the gun and possibly start pounding on the person before they had a chance to pull it out of the holster.
It’s a crazy thing to be wondering about and planning, but that’s the upsetting thing that armed and stupid people do to the rest of us. Even if Imaginary Nut Job A had no intention of shooting me, he leaves himself vulnerable attack by the person who is forced to make that quick decision. This is why guns suck. If you own a gun for any other reason (such as showing off) besides protection against an actual physical attack then you are too stupid to own something so dangerous.
I’ve actually had a gun pointed at me. In 2002 I was walking through a Lincoln Park neighborhood after three in the morning when a guy lunged out at me. He was a lousy mugger because it was dark and he didn’t put the gun in a position that i could see it. I just thought that a crazy person was lunging at me, so I punched him in the face. We rolled around on the ground hitting one another for about 10-15 seconds before he freed his hand and jammed a pistol in my chest. I gave him my wallet and he ran away. The thought that I punched someone in the face who had a gun really freaked me out.
As it turned out, the guy dropped another victim’s wallet as he was running away. I picked it up and gave it to the police. Even though I picked the wrong person out of the lineup a few weeks later, the person who had been robbed before me identified the guy. He was eventually made for a few dozen such mugging and made a plea bargain for 11 years in jail, minus parole. And when they searched his home after the arrest the only weapon they found was a black BB gun pistol. Lovely.

Didn’t I tell you to stop apologizing already? Jeez, Ken.

Whoo, Bucks. Well done guys, nailed it.
It’s nice that Redd was hitting his hero shots last night but it won’t be like that every night. The Bucks feel like a team in flux right now while they’re trying to find a way to incorporate Redd. I’m not sure why that’s so hard.

Ken–
Up until about a month or so ago, my primary computer was an Apple purchased in 2002. I kept it for the same reasons you kept yours. I was in complete denial about it, and proud that I’d kept it useful for so long. “Fuck built-in obsolescence!” I said, “This computer is going to be like one of those pre-embargo cars in Cuba!” Then one of the hard-drives kept going and I had to face reality. I bought a mac mini, it works great, the difference is actually astounding, and I’m much happier now.
