Episode #50 is finally here, with a special announcement:

The Disciples of Clyde NBA Podcast is teaming up with FreeDarko! We are now ingeniously called FreeDarko Presents: The Disciples of Clyde NBA Podcast.

We will continue as a weekly NBA podcast hosted by Ken and Dan.  FreeDarko will be by each week, too.

So it’ll be the same Disciples of Clyde NBA Podcast you always loved (didn’t you?) only now even better.

For this new episode, Dan and Bethlehem Shoals from FreeDarko spend an hour talking about a variety of topics (spoiler alert - we go off on some tangents!)

Including:

- Why don’t we care that much about the end of the regular season?
- Derrick Rose in the playoffs?
- Why does loving Tyrus Thomas hurt?
- Larry Brown causes conflicted feelings
- The fallacy of certainty in NBA punditry
- How do injuries inspire Wade and Wallace?
- Allen Iverson, complex and definitely injured

And probably some other stuff, too.

Ken will be back with us next week, and who knows who else? Thanks for listening!

Great to have the podcast back. Just one comment, regarding the Iverson “conspiracy theories” - I agree that AI is likely really injured, but you guys seemed to completely skate over the timing of the whole thing. That is where the conspiracy theories are coming from. Iverson came back saying he would do whatever he needed to do, then after one game he was complaining about coming off the bench.

People are not getting on his case because he is hurt and sitting it out, it’s because he came back, then right after he said he hated coming off the bench it was announced that he was going to be shut down for the rest of the season. I cannot believe how long you guys talked about that topic without once getting to the real issue. What happened?

“Ben Gordon can kind of shoot”, hmm, ok, yeah he can, .453 FG% this season and .405 3-PT FG% this season.

    RE: Tyrus Thomas
While his development has come slower than some others from his draft class, however, this season, last 15 games especially, he seems to be “getting it”. Needs to up his rebound total and b-ball IQ, but a monster.
He also is blocking shots while keeping them in-bounds, something LeBron forgoes for the block-it-into-the-stands thing.
Look, there’s been a lot of guys that it took a few years for to come around. You blew it, your dumping your Tyrus Thomas stock and giving up on him at exactly the wrong time.

I ain’t gonna talk smack here, because the playoffs are around the corner, and, while the Bulls most likely aren’t gonna make it out of the first round, it will be interesting to see how Tyrus Thomas performs in the playoff round.

Please, if he happens to be phenomenal, don’t back-pedal and talk about how you used to believe in the guy. You can’t have it both ways. Man, I really hope Tyrus stuffs it right in your face!

Not sure how much you’ve watched the post-trade Bulls, although you were quick to dismiss Salmons, who is averaging 18ppg - FG% of .480 and 3-PT% of .420. Not too shabby.

Lastly, Miller has contributed and Noah has come a long way as well.

Oh and Rose is the MAN! You better believe it dude!

If the Bulls play the Celtics, well, Garnett better be healthy. Rondo is the real match-up problem. Not to mention Pierce, but he has had some horrific moments vs Bulls. Unhealthy Garnett, Peirce in head-case/psych mode, and Rondo not hitting outside shot, and, UPSET! :-)

If they play the Cavs, LeBron has an off game, what do the Cavs actually have? Puh-leeze! Big Z can’t guard his lunch, not talking about the help-blocks he gets, he sucks on D and is SLOWER than Brad Miller!

Last of all, your whining about the Bobcats and playoffs is laughable. You dis the Bulls, yet, your beloved Bobcats can’t catch this group of misfits you describe, called the BULLS. Get real buddy, Bulls are gonna finish above the Bobcats, because over the course of a full season, the Bulls have a better record. Is this so complicated for you to comprehend?

Yeah, it must really suck for you, but Vinny Del Negro is gonna finish this season with a better record than Larry Brown. DEAL WITH IT!
